Klever Blockchain: The Countdown to KVM Release Activation

Klever Blockchain: The Countdown to KVM Mainnet Activation

Today marks a new milestone for the Klever Blockchain. The countdown to our KVM Release Activation update is officially live, and with it, the release of the new binary code for validators and exchanges to upgrade.

This isn’t just a formality. It’s the crucial step that ensures Klever evolves in a decentralized, secure, and coordinated way.

Why Does a Countdown Matter?

When a blockchain evolves, it’s not only about the core team releasing new code. For the upgrade to become a reality, every validator and exchange running the network needs to update their software to the new binary.

That’s why there’s a 32-day countdown window: it’s the time given for validators and exchanges to download, install, test, and sync their nodes before activation. This process ensures that when the update goes live, the entire network remains stable, secure, and in consensus.

In other words, the countdown isn’t waiting on us. It’s waiting on the community of validators who keep Klever running every day.

The Role of Validators in Klever

Klever is decentralized by design. Today, 115+ independent validators secure the network. Their responsibility is not just to validate transactions, but to bring upgrades like this one to life.

An update only becomes active when this diverse group installs the new binary and runs it in consensus. Without them, no smart contract, no token standard, no feature could ever reach production.

By giving a clear window and countdown, we ensure validators and exchanges have the time they need to prepare. This coordination is what makes decentralization practical, and why this update belongs to the community as much as to the Klever team.

Key Details For Validators & Exchanges

The new binary release is now available. During the countdown period, validators and exchanges should update their nodes to ensure the network is ready by activation day.

You’ll find step-by-step instructions, troubleshooting, and direct support from the Klever blockchain team in the Klever Forum.

The Activation Date

The update is scheduled to activate on October 28, 2025. Until that day, and until the specific epoch when activation occurs, nothing changes for end-users:

  • Staking works as usual.
  • Balances remain the same.
  • Transactions flow normally.

But once the epoch is reached, the switch flips, and the new features become part of the Klever Blockchain

What’s Coming After the Release Activation

On October 28, builders will gain access to a whole new toolkit, including:

  • KVM (Klever Virtual Machine) with Rust smart contracts
  • SFTs (Semi-Fungible Tokens)
  • Klever Blockchain IDE Extension for Visual Studio Code
  • Ethereum Bridge Smart Contract
  • KDA Pool Deposit Smart Contract
  • KleverScan “Contracts” area
  • A more efficient execution layer for real-world apps

Read details about each new feature in this Blog Post.

For developers, it’s the start of a new chapter. For the community, it’s proof of how far Klever has come: powered by validators, builders, and users working together.

Looking Ahead

The countdown isn’t just a timer. It’s a reminder of how Klever evolves: through community, coordination, and decentralization.

From the first validator who upgrades their node to the epoch where the update activates, every step shows the strength of a blockchain run by its people.

We’ll share updates and guidance along the way. In the meantime, follow the countdown, stay connected, and get ready for the next era of Klever Blockchain.
