Hello Kleverians,
Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my career, and I’m filled with a mix of emotions. On one hand, I carry the immense pain of losing my best mate, my soul brother, and the person who started this journey with me long ago. On the other hand, I’m deeply honored and excited to have the privilege of carrying Dio’s legacy forward.
My love for computer programming began when I was just 15 years old. It all started in my room in the ‘90s when my father, who worked as a Sales Manager for an official IBM supercomputer reseller, brought home a huge box after a long day at work. Inside was an IBM PC AT 386, accompanied by three books: a Hardware Manual, an IBM MS-DOS Manual, and a Guide to the Basic Programming Language.
The next day, I dove into the Manuals, learning how to configure jumpers directly on the motherboard. Soon after, I moved on to the MS-DOS and Basic Guides, teaching myself the basics of programming. One of my first creations was a simple wizard to make my father’s work easier, such as asking him to “insert the Lotus-123 disk” to work on spreadsheets. When he saw what I had done, he was astonished and said, “Are you kidding me? You did this on your own? You’re as good as some of the Senior Developers at my company.” From then on, he started taking me to his workplace, where I learned from his colleagues.
My father was my first mentor, my biggest supporter, and another of my soulmates. He passed away in November 2023, but his love and lessons will forever live on in my heart.
Fast forward to 2006, after earning my Computer Science Degree and completing Sun Java certifications, I began teaching Java programming at SENAI (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial) as part of a project called Oficina do Futuro (Future Workshop). This joint initiative between IBM and SENAI aimed to provide free programming education to underprivileged youth in Salvador, Bahia. IBM aimed to hire Developers from this program for its Software Factories.
It was there that I met a student who would forever change my life: Dio. He stood out as one of the most curious and determined students I’d ever encountered, asking questions relentlessly until he fully grasped every principle. From our student-teacher relationship grew an incredible bond, a brotherhood. I was his first mentor, and over the years, he became mine. The Jedi had surpassed his Master.
Between those early days in Bahia and the time Dio invited me to join him as his partner, I built my career in Banking and Insurance, growing from Consulting roles to becoming a Development Manager at one of Brazil’s largest insurance companies. Along the way, I met other lifelong brothers: David, Marlon, Vitor, Sobreira, JP, and Marcio.
Now, with the support of my incredible Partners, the trust of our Community, and the guidance of Fate, I begin this journey as the CEO of Klever. I take on this responsibility with humility, honor, and unwavering commitment. Together, we will push Klever to its rightful place at the forefront of the market.
As CTO, I’m glad to announce Fernando Sobreira as my replacement. Fernando is one of the top Blockchain Developers in the world, and now, in this strategic position at Klever, he will help us achieve all our goals in technology.
Behind Klever lies thousands of hours of code crafted by incredibly talented people. Our mission is to honor these efforts by making Blockchain and Crypto Technology accessible to Developers and Users, bringing its benefits to the masses. With the help of God, the dedication of the Klever team, and the strength of this amazing Community, I am confident we will succeed.
With love, and in memory of Dio,
Bruno Campos.
