Dear valued users,
We are reaching out to you with important information concerning a recent security issue affecting not just Klever Wallet users, but multiple cryptocurrency wallet providers.
We have been actively monitoring and investigating suspicious activity reported by some of our users. We’ve determined that the problem lies with an older algorithm used for the generation of wallet keys known as the Bip39 implementation, which exhibits low entropy compared to today’s standards. This flaw may potentially make them susceptible to unauthorized access or malicious activities.
We are pleased to confirm that if you created your wallet from scratch in Klever Wallet K4 or K5, then your wallet is not affected by this vulnerability.
Both Klever Wallet K4 and K5 utilize robust security measures, including state-of-the-art entropy and mnemonic generation systems, to ensure the utmost security of your wallets. Specifically, our iOS and Android apps employ built-in security functions of the respective operating systems to generate entropy securely.
Users imported the compromised wallets into Klever Wallet; however, these wallets were created outside our Klever ecosystem. Moreover, they used an old pseudorandom number generator (PRNG) algorithm, now recognized as weak, making them vulnerable to attacks.
To mitigate this issue, we recommend our users to promptly create new wallets using the Klever Wallet K5 or Klever Safe. These platforms utilize an enhanced security system and improved entropy generation methods, providing a more secure and reliable environment for managing your cryptocurrencies.
