Communicate efficiently
When sending a message, include as much information as possible. If necessary, add screenshots or recordings of the screen and your interaction with it. Be clear about what you need from the other person and the deadline. A few extra minutes, adding details, and editing for clarity can save days of back and forth in an asynchronous environment.
Plan to give people time to consider your message
For example, “I wish to complete this in three days and would really appreciate your input,” rather than “I need your input in the next hour.”
Before meetings, create an agenda of what is to be discussed
Share all relevant information and discuss the main issues before the meeting, so everyone understands the topic.
After meetings, document discussions and results
Create a document with minutes of what was said so that people who were not there can find this information. We can record the meeting for them to watch later.
